It used to be on general display in the cathedral. (In the north
transept if I remember correctly, in an out-of-the-way corner with no
particular sign-posting. You just walked in and looked at it - there was
a light on a timer where you pushed the button, to save it from fading -
it is after all 700 years old.)
More recently the cathedral authorities tried to sell it to somewhere
overseas for many millions to help pay for repairs to stop the cathedral
foundations collapsing but there was a very vocal local outcry about
local historical heritage being lost and the sale was prevented though
the cathedral still stands (more or less.) I believe that they now make
much of the map and display it in a special 'heritage centre' and charge
admission. There is information on the cathedral web-site I think but as
I type this the site appears to be down.

If there is a hefty charge for entrance I probably wouldn't bother as
regards the VMS connection, unless you are specially interested in this
sort of antiquity - it is after all a most curious and fascinating
object.

Useful words.
No. 94. "mamihlapinatapai" -
the uncomfortable feeling experienced when two people
are each hoping that the other will volunteer to do
something that both want done, but neither is willing
to do.
