VMs: Jim Reeds is now out of the loop on the imaging project

Jim Reeds should
be contacted first, since he will know the
situation.
Quite right.
I checked with Jim, and have appended his message below. There was
a long delay due to the Beinecke's needs and Luna Imaging starting
a new office near them, but as Jim says, they were not at all
responsive. This is a big disappointment, since the head of Luna
seemed quite interested in the project when Jim and I met with him
in Southern California some years ago.
After this much time, I think we'll need to restart the project
completely.

That's why we need to revive the Color Slide

I'm willing to call the library, and get the
pertinent information. And under
the "if you bring it up, you've volunteered" rule, I
suppose I'll have to
do the coordinating... : )
That works for me. Any objections? As Jim noted, we'll probably
need to revisit the whole funding issue. As I told him, I'll pledge
$1000 toward the project.
My main question to pass ask of the librarians is: "Which imaging
companies would you allow to do this project?" I assume there's a
short list, and that Luna is still on it, but who knows?

Hi, Jim -
Is this a good time to weigh in with an update on the imaging project?
Have things settled down for you yet?
I'm still in for $1000 on the project if it's needed.

Jim,
I suppose I have considered myself out of the project for
some time now. I still think Luna Imaging would be a good
choice to do the work, but the long series of delays and
unreturned phone calls and letters makes me doubt that they
are really interested in doing the work.
And Mark Perakh's money source is probably no longer interested.
At any rate I am still too busy to do the work.
Jim
