Yes, that's Jason Morningstar's thesis - however, here we're talking about paragraph-initial gallows (rather than all gallows, IIRC?), which I think have quite different statistics.


What I (implicitly) suggested to Larry was that he might consider converting his instinctive understanding of paragraph-initial gallows into a model (and perhaps then into a piece of code) - and test it out! :-)
