The earliest attribution of the four Watchers is to
the Persians in roughly 3000 BC. Apart from
archaeological evidence, this time frame makes sense
if you take the current position of Regulus at 29 Leo
and subtract 76' for every one hundred years, which is
the approximate rate of precession. Regulus
approaches Cancer 00, the summer equinox, in the 3000
BC millenia.
I tried to do the calculations, but I may be off due
to changes in the civil calendar, which I did not
account for. I found Regulus would have been at 00
Cancer in approximately 3836 BC.
What are your dates for Etruscan culture?
