RE: VMs: f67v-?-?-f68r

Hi John,

It is interesting that the numbering doesn't suggest pages existed there

quire. Since the quire signature should have been the last verso, but was
shifted one place to the right - that final edge needed to be sewed into
place; so instead - how do I word this...

In order to sew the edge into the center gutter, the binder gave him self
some slack to work with and the first remnant we see is actually the edge of
f67v1. Then, of course - f68r1 which has a left edge was resewn into place
with the same amount of slack or overlap.

Is it possible that all we are seeing are the two edges sticking out from
the center because the sewing was done a half-inch into the two pages being
joined?

That would make perfect sense, and (if confirmed) would pretty much "close the chapter" on Quire 9. The next task would be to print it out and reassemble it in its correct order, and see where that takes us. :-)
